Phill Lane is a recognised expert in graduate recruitment, appearing on Sky TV and BBC Radio 2 to talk about the challenges of job hunting in a recession and the impact of social media on personal brand. He contributes regularly to HR Magazine and is a regular speaker at conferences on the role of Social Media in Recruitment, Branding and the Role of Confidence in Job Seeking.

Phill’s start in advertising coincided with dot.com boom and subsequent bust, giving him more than a decade of first hand experience of the rise of social media and its importance in the job hunting and personal branding strategies of today.

Starting out as a graduate trainee himself, he has worked in the audience research and brand strategy teams and been responsible for the graduate recruitment campaigns of organisations including Accenture, BP, Nestlé, HSBC, Microsoft and Credit Suisse.

Phill regularly advises and works alongside The Guardian, Milkround.com, AGCAS, Graduate Prospects and The Student Room on major pieces of research into the job market for graduates and early career professionals.

He has an MA in Classics from Cambridge University.
